Special Needs Support
We have 4 staff who are trained to support children with additional needs. You may hear this referred to as SEN. Problems may range from a child who is temporarily unable to move around due to surgery on a limb, through to a child with extreme learning challenges. Our setting is all ground floor level and doors are wide enough to support wheelchair access. We have a sensory area which is dedicated to children who need that experience and a variety of toys, tools and equipment which support different children's needs.
We have a close working relationship with Health Visitors, Specialist Early Years Teachers, Childrens' Centre, Paediatric services and other professionals who support children. We are able to provide relevant support paperwork to gain Speech and Language or Paediatric referrals and have experience of writing the EHCP details for children who may need further support through their lives.
We provide 1:1 support and liaise very closely with our parents, who may also need further help to get the support they need at home. We have a close working relationship with parents and are proud of our joint achievements. We are in awe of how so many of our parents are able to achieve so much for their children despite the challenges they face and love to see the children's journeys as they develop and grow.
